LORDS

Lords and Vassals

They are the second highest under the monarchy.
They own the lands.
They held the largest fiefs.

-Each lord had their own vassal.
-relationships grew strongly because the vassals held fiefs from different lords.
-if a vassal was loyal to many lords than something might go bad
-vassals were ranked under the lords
-the vassals would have one main Lord who they would serve before their other lords which they are also loyal to.

BOTH

-in medieval Europe, a lord who was granted land in exchange for service and loyalty to a greater lord
-they would be loyal to their lord
