A thief on morgans plantation is about a girl named Constance.She has to stay with her cousins in Maryland while her dad is gold mining trying to money they need.When she gets to the door of her cousin's house she is greeted by a slave named Hattie,then she meets Hattie's 8 year old son Ezra.
Constance looks tired to Hattie because after all she did just have a 3 day trip in a old hot wagon from Philadelphia.Hattie takes her to her room where she soon meets her cousin Melanie.She figures out she is a spoiled brat that only thinks for herself.When Constance goes to dinner she meets her other cousin Toby.He is a nice kid and also helpful.He taught a slave to read,and that's against the law!The whole point of the story is that Constance's uncle lost his solid gold watch......the mystery continues who stole the watch,Mr.Wiley,or Ezra????????
