-The protests began around February of 2011, but there had been unrest since the mid 2000s.

-The basic reason people are protesting is because Libyans were upset with the unfair treatment by the government and Gaddafi. They were fighting for a more stable and fair government for their country because. That is why they protested.

History of the Protests

-The government responded in harsh ways and has injured and killed many protestors over the years of the unstableness. They do not want to conform to the ways of the citizens and they are fighting back.

-Libya in some ways is still unstable and they haven't fully recovered from the violence that has been going on. They have also been in an economic and political crisis since the revolution.
