Goods were traded, grown in one area, everything available (goods in our culture?)
Cities were elaborate
Pacal - ruler, huge temple built in his honor
Plazas for public gatherings
Terrace farming
Special ball courts- hit the ball but not hands or feet?
Losers were Sacrificed
Cities battled each other for power and land
Bloody warfare, enemies were captured and killed as sacrificed to the gods
Some think their downfall was because of this warfare
