St.Peter Before Becoming an Apostle

Peter was a native of Bethsaida near lake Tiberius. He was the son of John and his brother was St.Andrew who was also an apostle. They were fisherman on Lake Genesareth. Andrew introduced Peter to Jesus who then made him a disciple. Peter was originally named Simon but Jesus changed his name to Peter which means "The Rock"
