James Joyce

James Joyce was born in Dublinin 1882 into a catholic family. He studies in a prestigious University College in Dublin. In 1904, with Nora, he left once again for the Continent, where he was spend the rest of his life in voluntary exile as a wonderwal. Joyce developed a love-hate relationship with Dublin, and it was Dublin that provided the center material of his work.
In 1940 the Joyces moved from Paris to Zurich and Joyce died there of a perforated ulcer in 1941. He was buried in Fluntern cemetery, above Zurich, as was Nora when she died ten years later.
