The Central Valley lies in the Middle of California next to the mountains.Over time, little by little, soil has been washing down from the mountains, on to the valley.It had formed a thicker layer on the floor of the valley.A long time ago, the Central Valley used to be covered in woods, grasslands, and wetlands.
