Mexico

- The revolution was started by Father Miguel Hidalgo, a priest from Dolores

- Rebellion began with the ringing of church bells on the morning of September 16, 1810 ("Cry of Dolores")

- Hidalgo was replaced by three more leaders before Mexico finally saw peace

- The Spanish sent Agustin de Iturbide to end the war, however Iturbide ended up siding with Mexico.

- Mexico won independece on August 24, 1821.
