States-
Each state has the freedom to elect their own representatives
They each get to choose how to run their state- make their own laws
Ex: Florida driving age is different then New Hampshire's
National-
As a whole, we can elect representatives Ex: president
As a human and citizen, people are granted rights of freedoms Ex: freedom of religion and speech

Disadvantages:
-Governments can become corrupt and too powerful
People can abuse their rights Ex: breaking the law, intrude on other state governments
