Animals The animals that live in the deciduous forest are red squirrels, fat dormouse, black bear, white tailed deer, least weasel, eastern Chipmunk, duckbill platypus, and a coyote and other small insects. All these animals live in different habitats and some are predators and prey. For example, a coyote eats a deer if the deer is small enough. The coyote is the predator and the deer is the prey.
