What is the EU?
-In 1948, a group of European countries came together to rebuild after WW11
-They created a common market to make trade easier.
-Worked together to maintain peace with the European countries.
-To join you must protect human rights and the country must be a democracy.

Positive Reasons:
-helped rebuild after WW11
-Makes trade more simple
-negotiations more simple
-free trade
-promote democracy

Negative Reasons:
-loss of sovereignty (freedom, independence)
-Follow laws you don't agree with
-Might lose traditions
-Might have to help countries that you do not like
-lose control of your economy
