The neuron consists of 3 parts. The dendrites, which pick up nerve impulses & pass them to the cell body. The cell body which contains the nucleus. The axon which carries the impulses away from the cell body. These are the three parts of the neuron.

The neuron is a nerve cell and it's function is to transmit electrical impulses throughout the brain/body.
