The stock Market crash of 1929 occurred at the beginning of the Great Depression which was the economic crisis and period of low business activity in the U.S. and other countries. It started in 1929, continuing through most of the 1930s.
In the late 1920's, the stock was considered a place where everyday people truly believed they could become rich. The Roaring Twenties, the decade that followed World War I and led to the Crash,was a time of wealth and excess. That was not the case of the 1930's at all...
