Located in northeast Africa, Sudan is the largest country on the continent.
It is about a quarter of the size of the United states (2,505,813 sq km), making it the 10th largest country in the world according to the World Factbook. With the Red Sea taking up approximately 853 km of its northeastern border, other Sudanese neighbors include: Central African Republic, Chad , Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Libya, and Uganda.
