Squids have this ink sack right below there gut and right next to the anis. Inside of the ink sack is the melanin, melanin is just a very dark pigment. When ever the squid is scared it shout both the ink sack and the melanin to scare any predators. Squids can also can camouflage to hide from there anomy. The only bad thing about squids is that they have a short life span to about 3-4 years.
