The lourve started out as a fortress in 1190 but was reconstructed in the 16th century to serve as a royal palace.

The Lourve

This museum was inaugurated in 1739, but due to some problems it was shut down for almost 5 years. The lourve had reopened on August 10th 1793 one year after the monarchy Denise.

It had been closed because of the structural problems.
