-A wealthy city
-Location made trade and travel difficult
-The water they had wasn't clean, they built an aqueduct to get fresh water
-farming was difficult, they built chinanpas and farmed from boats
-became the greatest city in all the americas
-huge temples, busy markets, etc. it was a very nice and clean city
- when Europeans came they were awed by its magnificence
-200,000 people lived there before being destroyed by europeans
