Nucleic Acids

Macromolecules

-A macromolecule containing hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, carbon, and phosphorus.

-A macromolecule that contains carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen; needed by the body for growth and repair.

-Polymers of molecules called amino acid~ a compound with an amino group on one end and a carboxylate group on the other end, connected by a peptide bond.

-Made up of monomers called nucleotides

-Some nucleotide help in storing and transferring energy

-Nucleic acids store and transmit genetic information.

Examples: Ribonucleic acid (RNA) & Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA)
