The sun beats down on the hot, dry sand. A snake slithers by. It looks around, for something to eat. A tumbleweed rolls by. The wind blows, making a dried bush sway in the breeze. As the sun sets, it gets chillier. It is now night. The sun is gone, and the the tempature is very low. This is the desert region. The desert is hot in the day, and very cold at night. The desert doesn't have many plants. It mainly has cacti, tumbleweed, and desert shrub. It doesn't have a lot of animals either. It has bighorn sheep, and mule deer. It's land is used for towns, mining, oil, and natural gas.
