Early life & career

Ernest was the son of Clarence and Grace Hemingway. Ernest and his family would spend a lot of time at a cabin they owned in Michigan where he became a sportsman. While Ernest was in high school, he worked on the school paper writing mainly about sports and immediately went to work for the Kansas City Star. His experience here shaped how he would write in the future.
