HOMER
ca. 8th century BC
Homer was said to be a court singer and a story teller. he was born on the island of Chios while argue that he existed in Ionia. But the dialect and the description in the poems pointed that Homer lived in Ionia. Homer wrote the famous poems "Lilliad" and "The Odyssey" The reason why these two stories were so influential for the Greek empire was not simply that they were entertaining. It was that they reflected the ideals that every Greek citizen should hold themselves to that were qualities epitomized in his heroes.
