The constitution becomes law

On september 17,1787, the representatives signed the constitution. Before it became law it had to be approved (ratified) by at least 9 of 13 states. New Hampshire was the ninth state to ratify the constitution and then it became law. New Yorkers didn't know if they should approve the constitution and be a part of the United States. They had a vote and it was close-30 people voted for it and 27 against. New York became the 11th state in the United States.
