Question Answers

1. I found that Oscillatoria and Spirogyra were the most common organisms that I found.

2. It was hard to take photos because the organism would move places before we even got the camera out and it is hard to focus the camera through a microscope. It was hard to find and get a picture of Protista because they have many key features that desperate them for other organism and they are rare to find in general.

3. The most interesting organism I found was the water shrimp because it was alive and moving, I expected most of the organism to be either dead or immobilized but the water shrimp moved freely and it looked very much like a real insect.

4. It looked like from the pictures that the water shrimp had legs and it was able to move and swim with its legs. But since the shrimp that we find in real life move by pulling its abdomen into its body that could also be a possibility.

5. I think that the role of the Rotifers is just to be a vital part of the pond water food chain. Many organisms including certain types of fish eat the Rotifers and gain energy from them.
