Vladek
Vladek is a very stubborn and determined man. He fought for his life throughout the war and there is many examples of it in the book. He used money when money was still able to save him and when he realized that money no longer gave him power, he would do work or favors as trade for food. He always tried to do what he could for his family and that is very admirable. Vladek did not have it easy but he had many connections and resources not only from his father in law but himself (Vladek had many cousins and friends willing to help him as long as he could pay) that would help him throughout his life in the holocaust. He didn't give up even though he saw how so many of his loved ones, including his first son, where taken from him and killed by Nazi soldiers.
When the father-in-law helped Vladek out with his connections.
