Clinical Description

Treatment
Avoiding exposure to sunlight. Keratoses can also be treated using cryotherapy or fluorouracil.

Symptoms
1)Severe sunburn when exposed to only small amounts of sunlight.
2)These often occur during a child's first exposure to sunlight.
3)Development of many freckles at an early age
4)Rough-surfaced growths (solar keratoses), and skin cancers
5)Eyes that are painfully sensitive to the sun and may easily become irritated, bloodshot and clouded.

1 in 250,000
(Rare) In Japan 1 in 20,000

Life expectancy: 20 without avoiding sun.Normal expectancy if sun avoided
