Jamie just moved to Long Beach, and the school there has ton of bullies. Jamie steps up and tells the bullies a joke to make them laugh and stop bullying kids. After saving a kids lunch money, the biggest bully, Stevie Kosgrov, knocked him over! That doesn't seem so bad, right? Wrong! Jamie needs a wheelchair because he cannot use his legs! At least his two best friends, Pierce and Gaynor can help! Pierce is a nerd, and Gaynor has tattoos and has a thing for girls, but he's too shy. Frankie tells Jamie about the Long Beach funniest kid comic contest, but he rejects the request. Stevie's parents just adopted Jamie! Jamie sleeps in the garage so he sneaks out to New York, New York, and signs up for the contest.
