:And ecological succession occurs at an uninhabited barren habitat or that occurs on an environment that has no vegetation (no soil)
Example the lava flow from a volcano would cause primary succession to occur. ( the temperate rainforest found in New Zealand are also known as the volcanic plateau)
Secondary succession occurs where there is soil from the previous community and doesn't have to start from scratch
A forrest fire will be the cost of secondary succession happening in that habitat
An ecological community in which populations of plants or animals remain stable and exist in balance with each other and their environment. A climax community is the final stage of succession, remaining relatively unchanged until destroyed by an event such as a fire or human interference
The temperate rainforest in the United States, Olympic National Forest, is currently a climax community
