*The fire must be very closely. Only a small area is burned at a time. The humidity and content in the forest must not be too , and there should be only a slight breeze.
*The fire must not be allowed to get too . If the fire is too hot, the crown can wilt, causing damage to the leaves. The heat can become so intense that the layer under the bark literally cooks. In extreme cases the crown and even the trunk can catch on fire. If the is planned and controlled properly, the heat will be low enough to prevent such damage.
