Sam Houston

1) Sam Houston wanted annexation with America and he wanted it to happen soon.
2) He gave the Cherokee's their own land because they raised him and he later married a Cherokee woman later.
3) He made his Capitol near Harrisburg and he named the Capitol Houston.
4) He started off with a debt of over $1 million and he had tried to reduce it by limiting the government money.
5) He had to get rid of many soldiers because he didn't have enough money to pay them.
6) He did his best to prevent his war with Mexico.
