4- Cherry was having internal conflict because even though she was friends with Johnny she couldn't bare the though of looking at him. She also was upset because she felt as if Bob was digging his grave by his behavior. She told Ponyboy that she didn't think she would ever be able to look at Johnny the same or ever. She also told Ponyboy that Bob only wanted to be told no.
