-Mental illness is common, about 1/4 adults in the U.S. will suffer a mental illness. It can occur at any time in your life, when your'e a child and in your later years. -Some factors are being abused or neglected when you were a child, stressful life situations, and heredity/biological causes

-General method mainly used to treat is psychotherapy. Basically speaking with a mental professional either in a group or one-on-one
-Usually takes 6-12 weeks to begin to become better depending on family support and self-awareness
-Professionals to care for postpartum depression: neurologist, psychiatrist, or psychologist
