Queen Elizabeth also known as "Good Queen Bess"
I was born on September 7th, 1533. I was the daughter of King Henry V and his second wife out of five, Anne Boleyn. My father beheaded my mother when I was just two years old. Even though my mother passed away, I still received an excellent education, I was very good at language and music. After my father died in 1547, I was under the care of my step mom, Catherine Parr. Conflicts with my step mother, because of her husband, Thomas Seymour, led me back to Hatfield. The court had gotten involved in my troubles with Seymour, and he was found guilty for trying to marry me for more power. Because of this, he was executed. After my brother who ruled at the time, pasted away, my older half sister, Mary, my cousin, Lady Jane Grey, and I sought the crown. Edward wanted Grey to take his place as ruler, but her reign did not last long, Marry took her place with the help of English supporters nine days after Lady Jane Grey took the throne. While my sister was Queen, she was a very dedicated Roman Catholic and wanted to restore her country with her faith, so I just went along with this, and remained a canidate for the throne. A man by the name of Thomas Wyatt tried to organize a rebellion against my sister to make me Queen, but his plan was exposed and he was executed and I was emprisoned. I was soon released, so I again headed back to Hatfield to study. My sister then pasted away, and I was finally Queen, but, she left me with so much work to do! First of all, my country was in war with France, also, my sister tried to restore England back to Roman Catholism, but it just created tension between different religions. So, I tried my best to act quickly and fix these problems. I first re-established the church, created a common prayer book, and tried to end the conflict between the Puritans and the Catholics, but as a result I got excommunicated by the popeI also ended the war with France. I tried my best to avoid losing war, and normally always had victory in war. I was also tried very hard to keep away internal efforts that tried to take my place as ruler. One of my biggest threats was my cousin, Mary Stuart. She attempted to assassinate me many times which caused her to be sentenced to twenty years in jail. After those twenty years, I decided to execute her. As I had been ruler, I have been approached by many people who wanted to marry me to become king, but I stayed independent my whole life and ruled on my own. Although I was very dedicated to my work in the court, I love the arts. I was a talented musician, loved to write poetry, always watched plays, and loved to paint. I was also a fashionista at heart! Later in life there were many rebellions because of food shortages and riots in Ireland. At that time I made my most famous speech, " Golden Speech". This need my 44 years as Queen. I took my final breath on March 24th 1603. Overall, I believe I was a very independent and dedicated Queen to my country.
