Madeline Deutsch
THIS IS MY STORY
In April 1944, her family was forced into a Hungarian ghetto. She lived there for 2 weeks and then was separated from her father and brother and transferred to Auschwitz.
After they were rescued in 1949, her and her mother moved to New York (Madeline was 19 years old.) It took a while for her to adjust to a completely new social environment. Eventually she went back to school and got a degree.
