The Mongol Government System

-The Mongols had a Monarchy, first ruled by Genghis Khan.
-Khan had supreme power and established the posts of prime minister, state judge, shaman, marshal, and "darkhan."
-Created councils of sages and general assemblies to make final decisions related to the state.
-Outstanding issues were discussed by the council of sages and made recommendations
-General Assembly discussed and made decisions regarding peace and war.
-Ikh Zasag= Mongol Empire's basic law code that codified matters such as: throne inheritance, forgein relations, general assemblies, civil rights, military force, hunting, finance, taxation, criminal and family law
