The reason gun control is such a big issue is because of school shootings, terrorism, and also violent crimes. Guns are supposed to be used for defense but unfortunately guns have gotten into the hands of people who do not wish to defend themselves with guns and they use them for bad things, such as a school in Connecticut by the name of Sandy Hook a man walked into the school with a gun and shot several students also a military fort in Texas called Fort Hood a Solider killed 13 men and wounded other Soldiers. Guns have also been used for good, such as home protection and law enforcement. These are some reasons for why gun control is such a pressing issue in America.
