Transition in China:
China has been communist for the longest of time but in 1976, their leader died and a new ruler was set in place. He introduced new ideas to increase productivity in a free market. He allowed families a certain amount of land from the government and the family was to decide what to do with the land. This increased the productivity of farmers by about 9 percent. Deng, China's new ruler also wanted to increase industry. He wanted people to spend more money on consumer goods and he also factories to increase production. To do this, he set up a system of rewards for people who found was to make factories more productive.
