How did the unrest in Ukraine begin?

The President promised to integrate Ukraine and the European Union, but then refused to sign the agreement. Also, the Cold War-era fight between Russia and the West over influence to the other countries. Lastly, the way that the authorities reacted to past protests by assaulting the protestors in violent ways

Who are the protestors?

Who is President Yanukovych and why has he fled?

President Yanukovych is the president of Ukraine. He was elected in 2010. He fled because after all the riots and protests, he was charged with mass murder and he left so he wouldn't be found.

The protestors are against the Ukrainian government and their President and are trying to make a point for them to get their civil rights and freedom.

Why did the unrest escalate in the past month?

Since the President has fled they are holding new elections and the people are on different sides. There are still protests and assaults over the Ukrainian issues.

What role did Russia and the West play in the Ukrainian Crisis?

How do you think this conflict will end?

The violence in Ukraine is deepening in both the east and the west. Both Russia and the West are trying to get involved in Ukraine.

I think that Ukraine will divide into 2 parts, the west and the east. I also think that they will try and develop a better government and get rid of their current president.
