Hitler had a much larger goal than just being in power for powers sake. He wanted to develop the Aryan race state that would dominate Europe and possible the world for generations to come. Aryan was a term linguist used to identify people speaking Indo-European languages.

Nazi Germany was the scene of almost constant personal and institutional conflict, resulting in administrative chaos. Struggle was the basic feature of relationships within the party, within the state, and within the party and state. The SS, originally created as hitlers personal bodyguards, became not only a secret police force, but the regular police force.the SS was based on two principles: Terror and ideology. Using repression, murder, concentration camps, and later public execution squads as terror methods.
In 1932, unemployment was at 6 million people, dropped 2.6 million in 1934 and then less than 500,000 by 1937. This leading many to accept and favor hitler and nazism.
In September 1935, Nazis announced a new set of laws called the Nuremberg Laws that excluded Jews from marriage with a German citizens and rid any Jews of their citizenship. In November 1938, a violent rampage against Jews resulted in nazis burning synagogues, destroying 7,000 Jewish businesses and at least 100 Jews were killed. 300,000 were round up to be put in concentration camps. Jews were even barred from public transportation and all public buildings even schools and hospitals.
