Revolution is the rotation of a celestial body on its axis
Rotation is The act or process of turning around a center or an axis.
Gravity is The natural force of attraction exerted by a celestial body, such as Earth, upon objects at or near its surface, tending to draw them toward the center of the body.
The two things you need to keep the planets in orbit is gravity and inertia. The gravity will keep them in their orbiting paths and the inertia will keep them moving around the sun.
The two things you need to have gravity is mass and distance. The more mass and the less distance the more gravity there is. The earth and Jupiter would have less gravity cause they are further away.
