-Theocracy- a system of government in which priests rule in the name of God or a god.

-Salem Witch Trials: A group of adolescent girls in Salem, Massachusetts claimed to have been bewitched by some older women.

-Affected the colonists to believe in witchcraft

-The god fearing New England colonists believed in good and evil.

-launched a 'witch hunt' that led to the lyncing in 1692 of twenty people.

-9 teens who were believed to be 'witch' were hanged to death and one teen was even pressed to death. Two dogs were also hanged.
