The Mayas reached their height between AD 250 and AD 900

The Yucatan Peninsula had more than 40 cities including 5000 to 50,000 residents in each city.

They grew cotton, rubber trees , and cacao beans (the source for chocolate)

Cacao Beans were used as money and chocolate is known to be food for rulers and for gods.
