How did the Great Depression affect Texans?
Families last hope was to turn to charities for help, to the point where the charities even ran out of money. Even the governor didn't have enough money to help, which meant no state funds. Certain city governments had paid Texans to work for them, and do chores such as cleaning up that particular city. Some cities even were able to let homeless people live in public buildings.
