Exemplifying Fortitude

Jean Valjean surprisingly decides to pardon Javert and sets him free. Javert's monologue in the story is evidence of the fact that he will not rest until Valjean is in custody. Javert cannot wrap his mind around why he once again was freed by Jean Valjean so he decides to take his own life by jumping off a bridge.
