Border started creating bent objects because he wanted to do something
no one else has done. Border said "we are all looking for a smile aren't we" so when people look at some of his works he wants them to smile and be happy. Border also uses bent objects as an escape to voice his thoughts and emotions. While he does have a silly side he also has a deeper side showing how he feels, for example he has a photo of a cheese puff standing by himself at a party while there is a group of fancy looking snacks with their backs towards him.Border may be trying to show he feels alone even in a crowd.
