Evolution of Protists
Protists evolved around 1.7 billion years ago. They evolved from prokaryotes and is said to be the most simple eukaryotes on the earth. The biggest adaptation that occurred during its evolution was the membrane infolding which was when the membrane folds in the cell to produce the nucleus. The next big adaptation has to do with the endosymbioic theory which was the theory that prokaryotic cells were engulfed by other cells which later turned into eukaryotic cells.
