DUCHENNE MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY

This MD effects the lower body similar to Beckers, however it often occurs in people without a known family history of the condition. Because of the way it is inherited boys are affected, not girls. Mothers are carries of the disease, there is a 50% chance daughters are also carries.

FACIOSCAPULOHUMERAL

This MD affects the upper body, appears in both men and women, and may develop in a child if either parent carries.

MYOTONIA CONGENITI

It affects muscle relation, called congenital because it is present at birth in muscle cells that are needed for the muscle to relax. Abnormal repeated electrical signals occur in the muscle, causing stiffness passed down from either one or both parents.

EMERY-DREIFUSS MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY 

Affects muscles used for movement and heart muscle. Among the earliest features of this disorder are joint deformities called contractures, which restricts the movements of certain joints. Contractures become noticeable in early childhood, involves the elbows, ankles, and neck, they can experience heart problems without weakness, and wasting of the skeletal muscles, effecting estimated in 1 in 100,000 people.
