Muscular Dystrophy (MD) is a genetic disorder that weakens the muscles that help that help the body moves. People with MD have a mutation of a gene located on the X chromosome, predominantly affects males, although females can also have severe symptoms. Most type of MD are multi- system disorders which manifest in the body system, including heart, gastro, nerves, glands eye and brain.
MD prevents them from making the proteins they need for healthy muscles, muscles weaken over time. Some people start having might start having problems as a baby or their symptoms might start later. Some even develop MD as an adult. Even though both sexes gets it boys have a higher risks of developing and females become the carries.
