Listeria uses the cellular machinery to move around inside the host cell.

To prevent Lysteria, one has to sanitize all surfaces that have come into contact with food. Ethanol is a common cleaning agent.

The symptoms of listeriosis include fever, muscle aches, and sometimes nausea or diarrhea.

If the Lysteria infection breaks through to the nervous system, symptoms can include Headache, Stiffneck, Confusion or changes in alertness, Loss of balance, and Convulsions.

There have been approximately 160 deaths from Lysteriosis.
