As for drinks, water was not considered, safety drink and milk was for chicken and invalids. Tea, coffee, and hot chocolate were popular drink for breakfast times, though many men began the days with a tankard of ale and a plate of cold roast beef.


Lemonade, orange, or barely water were offered as refreshments during the day and of course everyone drank alcohol- sometime in alarming quality. During dinner numerous of different wines were served.
