Tasks that you'll have to do when you're a CNS are, to develop & or assist others on the development of the care and treatment of the patients. To make sure that they're getting good care, find out what kind of care they'll need. Keep track of the patient's health, explain the treatment or medication. Provide consultation to other health providers such as patient discharge, care, & or clinical procedures. Must develop and maintain departmental policies, procedures, objectives, & the patient care standards are based on evidence-based practice guidelines or an expert opinion. Evaluate the quality and effectiveness in the practice of nursing or organizational system(s). Develop, implement, & or evaluate standards of nursing practice. Direct & or supervise the staff in the provision of patient therapy,

instruct nursing staff.
